What is Obstetrics?
Obstetrics is that area of healthcare that deals with pregnancy and concentrates on maternal and fetal health and childbirth. Throughout the pregnancy, the obstetrician is the main care provider, working to ensure safe and healthy arrival of the baby.
Giving birth is one of the most beautiful events in one’s life, so selecting the right obstetrician is very important to have a healthy pregnancy, birth and delivery of newborn. The obstetrician is also a wonderful surgeon who assists and comforts the woman while she is giving birth.
When to visit your Obstetrician?
Whether you are planning to become pregnant or are pregnant now, Dr Tayal at Fortis hospital is here to assist you with a touch of personalised care you need in a comfortable environment.
It is very important to visit your health care provider six months before planning pregnancy. Fetal development and optimal maternal health can foster pre-conception care, by addressing emotional and physical requirements prior and constantly.
The obstetric care is recommended right after conception. If one is not sure about their pregnancy, they must schedule an appointment with their obstetrician as soon as possible.
Your First Prenatal Visit:
Your first visit for prenatal care will be the most detailed. This appointment is with the couple to guide them about do’s and don’ts.
